Month-long dark stretch near Bogadi Signal Junction

August 12, 2025

Sir,

We, the residents of Bank Employees Colony and surrounding areas, have been facing the problem of non-functioning streetlights along the stretch from Bogadi Signal Junction to Royal Oak Junction (starting from Mahalakshmi Sweets Point) for over a month.

Walking in the evenings along this dark stretch has become extremely difficult and unsafe, especially in light of repeated reports of chain-snatching incidents.

We are unsure who is responsible for addressing this issue, but the fact remains — we cannot step out in the late evenings due to complete lack of lighting.

Shockingly, this lapse has gone unnoticed by the authorities for such a long period.

We urge the authorities concerned to treat this as a matter of priority and restore the streetlights at the earliest to ensure public safety.
