Mysore/Mysuru: A soulful celebration of Krishna Janmashtami through a unique flute duet concert titled Sri Krishnaarpanam Series has been organised by Bamboo Melody Raagas.
The inaugural concert of the series will be held on Sunday (Aug. 17) from 10 am to 1 pm at Kalpa Kshetra Auditorium, Vijayanagar 3rd Stage. Special guests for the occasion include K.S.N. Prasad, Prof. R. Vaidyanathan and Sandesh Bhargav.
The concert will feature acclaimed flautist Vidwan Rakesh Sudhir alongside his young disciple, Ankush S. Kadaba. They will be accompanied by an ensemble of seasoned percussionists: Vidwan A. Radhesh on mridanga, Vidwan R. Karthik on khanjira and Vidwan Sharath Koushik on ghata.
The series promises to be a spiritually enriching musical offering, blending tradition with youthful talent.
About Vidwan Rakesh Sudhir, Ankush S. Kadaba
Vidwan Rakesh Sudhir, a versatile musician and composer, is a disciple of the late Karnataka Kalashree Vidwan A.V. Prakash.
With over a decade of vocal training under Vidushi Rajalakshmi Narasimhamurthy, Sudhir has carved a niche as a solo and accompanying flautist at prestigious venues, including the Music Academy and Narada Gana Sabha in Chennai. He is also the Founder of Studio Swaramadhura.
Joining him on stage is 12-year-old Ankush S. Kadaba, a student of Excel Public School, Mysuru. Despite his young age, Ankush has already performed at several respected platforms, including Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha, Sri Aandaal Mandir Trust and Sri Shankara Jayanti Sabha.
He has also won first prize in the Sub-Junior Instrumental category at Gayana Samaja, Bengaluru, in 2024. Ankush trains in Karnatak flute under Vidwan Rakesh Sudhir, vocal under Vidushi H.N. Rajalakshmi, and mridanga under Vidwan A. Radhesh. Ankush is the son of S.D. Suresh Kumar, serving as Police Inspector, Vijayanagar and Sumathi Suresh.
