Mythological Theatre Songs to mark Ganesha Festival

Mysore/Mysuru: The historic Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple at K. Hemmanahalli (Bogadi Road, 9th kilometre) will host Ganesha Festival celebrations on Wednesday (Aug. 27) with a unique highlight — a musical presentation of songs from mythological dramas.

The festivities will begin at 8 am with special abhisheka, alankara seva and maha mangalarati, followed by the distribution of prasada to devotees.

From 10 am onwards, a Ranga Sangeetha programme will be held, featuring harmonium by R. Manjunath of K. Hemmanahalli, accompanied by tabla and clarinet. More than 30 artistes will render songs from traditional mythological plays.
