Father, sister-in-law also brutally assaulted
Mysore/Mysuru: A fight over property ended in a man brutally murdering his elder brother at Bore Anandur in Yelwal Police limits in the taluk yesterday.
The deceased has been identified as Mahesh (33), son of Krishnegowda of the village. His father and wife were assaulted with a lethal weapon.
It is said that Krishnegowda’s younger son Ravi used to frequently quarrel over his share of property resulting in village elders intervening and stopping the quarrels. But yesterday noon, Ravi picked up a fight with his father and assaulted him with a lethal weapon. He then went to the pump house in the agriculture field and picked up a fight over sharing of property during which wordy duel ensued between them. Ravi then brutally assaulted Mahesh with a machete, killing him on the spot. Mahesh’s wife Lakshmi, who rushed to her husband’s rescue, was also assaulted with the sharp weapon by Ravi, before fleeing from the spot.
The seriously injured Krishnegowda and Lakshmi have been admitted to K.R. Hospital in city.
Yelwal Police, who have registered a case, have launched a hunt to nab Ravi, who is currently absconding.
