Apollo BGS Hospitals holds mock drill for Dasara emergency preparedness

September 20, 2025

Mysore/Mysuru: Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru, conducted an ‘Emergency Preparedness Mock Drill’ to ensure readiness for any medical emergency, including potential stampede-related incidents, during the upcoming Dasara festivities.

The mock drill was carried out under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. P. Shivaraju along with Sudheer of the DC Office and Dr. Mohammed Siraj, District RCH Officer as official observers.

The exercise simulated real-life emergency scenarios to evaluate rapid response, triage systems and coordination among hospital staff, ambulance services, doctors, nurses, and paramedics.

Dasara attracts thousands of visitors from across the country and abroad, making emergency preparedness a critical requirement, said Dr. Shivaraju adding “Apollo BGS Hospitals’ proactive initiative is truly commendable. The staff executed the mock drill with such precision and realism that it felt like an actual emergency response. I encourage other institutions to undertake similar activities to ensure public safety during major such events.” Dr. Mohammed Siraj and Sudheer also praised the hospital team’s performance.

Speaking on behalf of the hospital, the management stated, “The safety of the people of Mysuru and visitors during Dasara is our top priority. This mock drill highlights our preparedness and collaboration with district authorities to ensure world-class emergency response when needed.”

For medical help, dial 1066, supported by Apollo’s 5G-connected Smart Ambulance network, said N.G. Bharateesha Reddy, Vice-President & Unit Head, Apollo BGS Hospitals.
