Mysuru: Kuvempunagar Police have arrested an employee of a cooking contractor for stealing Rs. 10 lakh kept in the godown.
The arrested is Girish, a resident of Saragur in H.D. Kote taluk. The accused used to chop vegetables at the godown of Ramesh, a cooking contractor and a native of Srirangapatna.
Ramesh had a godown in Kuvempunagar ‘M’ Block in city, from where accused Girish had stolen Rs. 10 lakh cash kept in the almirah, a week back and had gone absconding.
Following the theft, Ramesh, who had suspected the theft to be the handiwork of seven employees, had lodged a complaint at Kuvempunagar Police Station.
Inspector Yogesh, who had registered a case, collected footages of CCTV cameras and based on the clues and investigation, confirmed that it was Girish alone who had stolen the cash, arrested him and recovered the cash.
The accused was produced before the Magistrate, who remanded him to Judicial Custody.
Kuvempunagar Inspector Yogesh, Sub-Inspector Mohan Kumar and staff took part in the nabbing and recovery operation.
