Mysuru, Oct. 20- A live musical evening titled ‘Ee Samaya Sangeethamaya (This Time is Musical),’ led by renowned singer Dr. A.D. Srinivasan, was jointly organised by Sri Swaramadhurya Gana Balaga and Vidyullahari, Mysuru, at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road in city recently.
The event began with beautiful lighting, an excellent stage, high-quality sound systems and a large audience. The artistes entertained the audience fully by singing songs from four languages — Kannada, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films.
Artistes from the troupe rendered the song ‘Teredide Mane O Ba Atithi…’ from the movie Hosa Belaku, sung by Sheela Gurudutt and Indrani Anantharam. Dr. Srinivasan and his wife Dr. Padmashree, sang ‘Eneno Aase…’ from the movie Shankar Guru.
Following this, engineer and singer H. Ashwath Narayan melodiously sang the song ‘Noorondhu Nenapu…’ from the film Bandhana, captivating the audience. After that, Gurudutt sang the song ‘Aaseya Bhava…’ from the movie Mangalya Bhagya, while Shwetha gracefully sang ‘Madhumasa Chandrama…’ from the film Vijayavani. Subsequently, Dr. Srinivasan’s son, Srihari, charmed everyone by singing the song ‘Jagave Neenu…’ from the movie Love 360.
Singer Indrani Anantharam enthralled the audience by soulfully singing the title track of the Hindi film Satyam Shivam Sundaram. Dr. Srinivasan and Indrani performed the song ‘Suddi Suddi…’ from the Telugu film Swathi Muthyam, while Ashwath Narayan and Sheela Gurudutt presented ‘AralideTanumana…’ from the film Apoorva Sangama.
They were supported by Purushottam and Sharath on keyboard, Gurudutt on rhythm pad, and Indrashekar and Atmaram on tabla.
The programme began with a prayer, ‘Nammamma Sharade Umamaheshwari…’ by Dr. Srinivasan, and was inaugurated by Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat Mysuru Unit President Dr. Nagaraj V. Bairy. The programme was hosted by All India Radio (AIR) Announcer Manjunath.
