Sringeri Shivaganga Mutt Seer passes away

Bengaluru, Oct. 25- Sringeri Shivaganga Mutt Seer Purushottam Bharathi Swamiji (73) passed away at a private hospital here yesterday.

The Swamiji, who was the 19th Seer of the Mutt located near Dobbaspet in Nelamangala taluk of Bengaluru rural district, fell seriously ill and was admitted to the Hospital on Deepavali day. But he breathed his last yesterday morning and his last rites were performed in the Mutt premises in the evening on the same day.

Born at Vellatur in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, the Seer’s original name was Kammambati Nageshwara Avadhani. Purushottam Bharathi Swamiji was appointed as the Mutt seer on Mar. 3, 2014. He was closely associated with Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji of Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Mysuru.
