Sir,
I wish to draw the attention of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner and the Vani Vilas Water Works Engineer to a long-standing problem faced by pedestrians and site owners on Adichunchanagiri Road, opposite BCM Hostel, Kuvempunagar, Mysuru.
For the past year, the Under Ground Drainage (UGD) line has been overflowing, causing sewage to spill into the open drain along the road.
This has resulted in a parking issue and dirty water frequently overflows into the sites, making it extremely difficult to live in the area. The situation has become so severe that it is now affecting our health.
Despite repeated complaints to Vani Vilas Water Works and the MCC, the issue is only being resolved temporarily. While staff members attend to it, the problem resurfaces soon after. The permanent solution is to connect the nearby sites to the new drainage pipeline, which already exists.
The UGD workers and the engineers themselves advised us to raise this matter publicly so that higher authorities can take permanent action. We have already lodged seven complaints and visited the Vani Vilas Water Works Office multiple times, yet the issue remains unresolved. We pay substantial property taxes and expect, at the very least, a clean and liveable environment in return.
We, therefore, request the MCC Commissioner to take urgent and permanent measures to resolve this UGD issue.
