PGSC, PRM Vijaya College shine

Mysuru, Nov. 15 – Post Graduate Sports Council (PGSC), Manasagangothri and PRM Vijaya College, T. Narasipur, emerged Overall Champions in men and women categories respectively at the three-day 96th University of Mysore Inter-Collegiate Athletic Meet held at University of Mysore Athletic Grounds (Oval Grounds) here recently.

PGSC won Overall Championship in the men’s category with a total of 125 points, while Yuvaraja’s College with 74 points and SBRR Mahajana FGC with 41 points ended up in second and third positions. R. Prajwal, a student of TTL College of Business and Management, who won the 100 mts sprint with a timing of 10.80 sec scoring 946 points in total, emerged as the Best Athlete in the men’s category.

In the women’s category, PRM Vijaya College of T. Narasipur with a total of 83 points won the overall championship and was followed by Teresian College with 70 points and PGSC Manasagangothri with 40 points in second and third positions respectively. Harshitha, a student of JSS College for Women, who won the 100 mts sprint with a timing of 12.34 sec and scored 925 points, was declared as Best Athlete in women’s category.

The three-day event witnessed a total of 431 male athletes and 342 women athletes from 82 Colleges affiliated to University of Mysore taking part in the Athletic Championship. The prizes to the winners were distributed by retired Principal Dr. B. Basavalingu and UoM College Development Council Director Dr. K. Mantelingu. UoM Dept. of Physical Education Director Dr. C. Venkatesh and others were present.
