Tribute to Legendary Flautist on Nov. 22

Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Krishna Ganasabha, Mysuru, on account of the birth anniversary of Legendary Flautist T.R. Mahalingam, has organised a  flute concert on Nov. 22 at 6 pm at its Alwar Kala Bhavan in Gokulam.

H. Ramachandra, Administrator, Shringeri Mutt and Prof. Rameshwari Varma, Theatre artiste, will be the chief guests.

On the occasion, Vid. V. Vamshidhar  will present a flute recital accompanied by Vidu. Adithi Krishnaprakash on violin, Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on mridanga and  Vid. S. Manjunath on ghata.

Vamshidhar, a prominent classical  flautist from Mysuru, is known for his prodigious talent, including the ability to recognise ragas at age three. He comes from a family of musicians and is an A-Grade artiste with All India Radio and Doordarshan. Grandson and disciple of flute maestro Vid. V. Desikachar, he performs both in India and abroad.
