City Master swimmers excel in Nationals

Mysuru: Master swimmers from Mysuru representing Karnataka have excelled in the 21st National Masters’ Swimming Championship held at Hyderabad recently.

Nima Manjrekar (55-59 year category) won gold medals in 50 mts breaststroke and 100 mts breaststroke, silver in 50 mts freestyle, bronze in 4×50 mts medley relay and silver 4×50 mts freestyle relay; Anya Saini (60-64 year category) won gold in 50 mts and 100 mts breaststroke, 200 mts and 400 mts freestyle and silver in both freestyle and medley relays; Seetha Rao (75-79 year category) won gold medals in 50 mts, 100 mts, 200 mts and 400 mts freestyle and silver in both freestyle and medley relays; Sundaram Basappa (80+ category) secured silver in 4×50 mts medley relay;  R. Nagesh (80+ category) won silver in 100 mts butterfly, 200 mts individual medley and 4x50m Medley relay and bronze in 400 mts freestyle.

 C.S. Ashok (35-39 year category) was placed 5th in the 50 mts breaststroke.
