SDM-IMD students shine at BIM Trichy Management Fest

December 8, 2025

Mysore/Mysuru: The students of SDM Institute for Management Development (SDM-IMD), Mysuru, participated in the Management Fest organised by the Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM), Trichy and brought laurels to the institution by winning several awards and accolades across various events.

In the Operations Competition, Krupa Shetty, Pareekshith Gokhale and G. Dhanush secured the first position. The event comprised a quiz on operations management, a case study analysis to evaluate the quality of research and the feasibility of recommendations and a virtual simulation game designed to test participants’ understanding of operations management by balancing supply and demand effectively.

Writtika Das earned the first position in the Best Manager competition. The contest included an aptitude test followed by a personal interview round.

The interview, lasting about 20 – 25 minutes, assessed self-introduction, stress management, understanding of undergraduate fundamentals, situational handling, and quick thinking.  The rapid-fire segment featured unexpected, out-of-the-box questions to evaluate participants’ presence of mind, ability to handle criticism and managerial aptitude.

In the Finance Competition, Vura Sai Teja, Aniket Burnwal, and B. Abhay Baliga achieved the first position. The event consisted of three rounds — a quiz, a finance-related case study analysis, and a merger and acquisition (M&A) case study for which participants provided practical recommendations.

Naren Sateesh,  I. Shameera and Siddharth Singh performed well in the Pitch and Propel competition and have won the first position. This event featured a single, critical round in which teams presented their business ideas before a panel of judges.

In the Solo Singing Competition, Akhil P. Chandrasekhar emerged as the first runner-up. The competition included two rounds — an online preliminary and an offline finale — where participants showcased their musical talent and stage presence.
