Sports Meet held at I Can School

Mysuru: City’s I Can International School and I Can Learning Centre Kindergarten conducted its 16th Annual Sports Meet to promote athletic discipline, teamwork and school spirit among the students.

The Sports Meet, organised by the Student Council 2025-26 and the staff members of the school, was held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad recently.

The opening ceremony included a guard of honour welcoming of the chief guest Joyce Nathan, a veteran in School Sports Education. This was followed by unfurling the school flag, oath taking ceremony, torch relay and lighting of the cauldron to symbolise goodwill and unity. 

The highlight of the opening ceremony was the peace formation, taking inspiration from the ‘Peace by Piece’ initiative introduced to the school by the dynamic duo Tara and Trisha, performing artistes, who have launched themselves this year in Disney Channel.

Live performances from Kindergarten and Primary School students in the form of songs and dances movement took place setting the tone for the day. The school’s Karatekas gave a live demonstration.

Athletic events included 50, 60, 75, 100 and 200 mts running race, obstacle courses, to exhilarating relays like 8×100 mts mixed relay and 12×100 mts relay.

The grand finale was the 400 meter lap run by parents and learners which has been tradition since the inception of the school.

Overall, the day was a success and a glorious tribute to the spirit of fair play, teamwork and sportsmanship. Four Houses competed for the coveted winner’s trophy. Terra Mater bagged this honour followed by Vulcan, Posideon and Zeus house. Lakshmi Ali, a Special Educator and Education Consultant, distributed medals to the Kindergarten learners.
