Mysore/Mysuru: Marking National Farmers Day, the city based Karunadu Raitha Rakshana Pade has organised a day-long ‘Raithara Habba’ (Farmers Festival) at the Skating Ground in Hebbal here on Dec. 24.

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Karunadu Raitha Rakshana Pade Founder-State President M.K. Sanjay said that the event will commence from 11 am on that day.

Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Ministers Zameer Ahmed & N. Cheluvarayaswamy, MLAs G.T Devegowda & K. Harishgowda and other elected representatives are expected to take part.

Condolence will be paid to ‘Vruksha Maate’ Saalumarada Thimmakka, who passed away recently, he said.

Sanjay further said that prior to the start of the event, a grand procession will be taken out from Vijayanagar Water Tank junction to the venue (Hebbal Skating Ground) at 10 am, in which 10 pairs of superior Hallikar breed  cattle will take part.

Rakshana Pade office-bearers Yatish Patel, K.M. Shivakumar and K.J. Paramesh were present at the press meet.
