Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to create awareness among youths on the ill-effects of drugs, the city unit of Karnataka Rashtra Samithi (KRS) party had organised an awareness jatha and convention in city yesterday.
Party’s Hon. President Krishna Reddy, who garlanded the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the Town Hall premises, inaugurated the convention. Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that the party has been fighting against bribes since seven years and is now fighting for drugs-free society and for jobs.
Stating that narcotic substances were available everywhere including villages, he said that if it continues many will be childless and there will be health hazards.

Later, an awareness rally was taken out from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple, which passed through the main thoroughfares of city and culminated near Basaveshwara statue. KRS party State President C.N. Deepak, District in-Charge Ravi Kumar, Raghu Janagere, Janagi Vatsala, Somasundar, Manjunath, Raghupathi Bhat and Nagendra, Ravindra participated.
