Special Police drives: 166 petty cases, 108 COTPA cases registered

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru City Police, who have intensified enforcement across the city, conducted special drives in Udayagiri, Narasimharaja (NR) and Mandi Police limits on Saturday and have registered 166 petty cases and 108 cases under Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA).

The special drives by Police officers and staff along with a commando team were conducted between 6 pm and 10.30 pm in the above Police limits during which cases were registered on those violating the law on public roads and public places.

During the special drives, commercial establishments which were open beyond 10.30 pm were asked to down the shutters. Also, action will be taken against those who wander around unnecessarily after the specified time.  

The Police have urged the public to co-operate in maintaining peace and law and order and to put brakes on illegal activities across the city.
