Brahmakumari Lakshmiji, MCCI President K.B. Lingaraju and Prof. Bhashyam Swamiji among awardees

Mysore/Mysuru: The 21st Annual Convocation of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) will be held at its Convocation Hall in Mukthagangothri campus tomorrow (Jan. 31) at 11.30 am.

Governor-Chancellor Thaawarchand Gehlot will preside. Dr.  Sukanta Majumdar, Union Minister of State for Education and Development of Northern Eastern Region, will deliver the convocation address.

Higher Education Minister and Pro-Chancellor Dr. M.C. Sudhakar, KSOU VC Prof. Sharanappa V. Halse, Registrar Prof. S. K. Naveen Kumar and Registrar (Evaluation) Dr. C.S. Anand Kumar will be present.

During the Convocation, Honorary Doctorates will be conferred on 8 personalities — S. Shivakumar, Harsha Institutions, Bengaluru; Satish Kumar D. Kaggere, Founder & Secretary, Kids International School, Tumakuru; Brahmakumari Lakshmiji of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Mysuru; K.B. Lingaraju of Hebbalu Foundation, Mysuru and President of Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI); Prof. Bhashyam Swamiji of Sri Yoganarasimhaswamy temple, Mysuru; Shivashankar Tokare of Bidar; B.S. Nagabhushana Atri of Hassan and Dr. C. Somasekhara of Bengaluru.

Besides, KSOU will award various degrees to 10,691 candidates (3,987 male and 6,704 female), 68 Ph.D Degrees, 65 gold medals and 62 cash prizes.
