Mysore/Mysuru: City’s Third Additional District and Sessions Special Court has sentenced a First Division Assistant (FDA) at the DDPI Office to four years rigorous imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs. 20,000 under Sections 7, 13 (1) (d), r/w 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act – 1988 after he was found guilty of demanding and accepting bribe.
The FDA, who was convicted is K. Kempegowda. He was caught red handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths and a case was registered by Lokayukta Dy.SP Umesh G. Shet on June 18, 2018. Inspector H.N. Vinay, who was the Investigating Officer, completed the investigation and Inspector Shekar had submitted the charge sheet to the Court.
Judge Gururaj Somakkalavar, who took up the case on Feb. 27, 2026, found accused Kempegowda guilty and sentenced him to three years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 10,000 for demanding bribe and an additional six months simple imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine. The Judge also sentenced him to four years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 10,000 for accepting the bribe and an additional six months simple imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine.
