Monthly Moonlight Music at Suttur Mutt tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of monthly ‘Beladingala Sangeetha-289’ (Moonlight Music) Series of Suttur Mutt, Mysuru, renowned vocalist Vidwan Karthik Mathur will present a vocal music concert at Suttur Mutt at the foot of Chamundi Hill in city at 6 pm tomorrow (Mar. 3).

He will be accompanied by Vid. Aniruddha Bharadwaj on violin, Vid. Phanindra Bhaskar on mridanga and Vid. Sharath Kaushik on ghata.

PROFILES

Vid. Karthik Mathur is a noted  Karnatak Music Scholar of the State. Having learnt early music lessons from his father Vid. M.S. Ananthanarayana, he is currently tutored by Vid. S. Shankar of Bengaluru and Vidu. R.N. Srilatha. A teaching faculty of Dayananda Sagar Engineering College at Bengaluru, he is also a Founder-Member of Bengaluru’s Arunodaya School of Music, which has trained hundreds of students in music.

Vid. Aniruddha Bharadwaj, who took to violin at a ripe age of just 6 years, is currently being tutored by Mysore Nagaraj and Dr. Mysore Manjunath. A ‘B High’ Grade artiste of Akashvani, he has bagged several awards including ‘Kalavanta’ award given by Karnataka Fine Arts Council.

Vid. Phanindra Bhaskar is an ‘A’ Grade artiste of Doordarshan and has taken part in many musical concerts. Among the many awards and prizes he has won, include ‘Ananya Yuva Pratibhe’ award jointly given by Bengaluru’s Malleswaram Sangeetha Sabha and Ananya Samsthe, ‘Best Mridangist’ award, ‘Ananya Nadajyothi Kala Puraskara’ and ‘PAC-CMANA Award’ given by Percussive Arts Centre.

Vid. Sharath Kaushik is a budding ghata and mridanga player of Karnataka. Currently he is getting trained in mridanga under the tutelage of Vid. Tumkur B. Ravishankar. He is an Akashvani ‘B-High’ Grade artiste. He currently works as a manager at a software company in Bengaluru.
