Illegal hookah bar raided: One arrested

Mysore/Mysuru: Following information from City Crime Branch (CCB) Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mohammed Shariff Rawther, city Police, on Mar. 3, raided a hookah bar and seized hookahs, tobacco packets and other raw materials besides arresting one person.

According to the press release from City Police Commissioner’s Office, the Police raided Cafe Byte near Mathrumandali Circle in V.V. Puram Police limits and found that a hookah bar was being illegally run in the cafe. The cafe was being run by Sanjay, a resident of Paduvarahalli.

The Police seized hookahs, tobacco packets, other raw materials and the DVR besides arresting one person and taking two persons, who were smoking hookah.

The seized items, accused and two smokers were handed over to jurisdictional V.V. Puram Police to initiate legal action.

A case has been registered at V.V. Puram Police Station.
