Mysore/Mysuru: The Kannada Odugara Okkoota of Mysuru Book Clubs Charitable Trust, in collaboration with Vani Vilas Ladies’ Club, organised a quiz competition for women recently.

A total of 38 teams, each comprising two women, participated in the quiz, which was conducted in four rounds. Seven teams qualified for the fourth round and, after a spirited contest, three teams emerged as winners.

Suma Prakash and Priyadarshini Mahindra secured the first prize while Pooja Lingaswamy and Pushpa Guru won the second prize. Dr. Vijaya Haran and G. Rajalakshmi Sridhar bagged the third prize.

Three consolation prizes were awarded to M.B. Rajeshwari and H.G. Roopa; Leela Vishwanath and Jayanti Ravishankar and H.N. Girija and Seethalakshmi.

The quiz was conducted by Founder and Chairperson of Mysuru Book Clubs Charitable Trust, Shubha Sanjay Urs, Kusuma Murthy, Kalpana Chandrashekar and H. Nivedita while author Suchitra Hegde compered the programme. Participants had come from Mysuru, Hunsur, K.R. Nagar and Nanjangud.

Mysuru Book Clubs Charitable Trust office-bearers Meenakshi Kumar and Nagaratna Palyam were present. Members of Vani Vilas Ladies Club including Deepa Malini Devi, Prema D’Silva, Shuba Nayak, Vasantha Shivamurthy, Suma Urs, Shaila Shankar and Vasantha Kumari, also attended the event.
