Ugadi festival

Ugadi festival & Allamaprabhu Jayanti celebrations and Panchanga Pathana will be held at Suttur Srikshetra in Nanjangud taluk tomorrow (Mar. 19). The rituals will commence early morning at Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Kartru Gadduge with the performance of Maharudrabhishka, Sahasra Bilvarchane, Maha-mangalarati and Belli Ratha (Silver Chariot) Prakarotsava. The celebrations will begin with Mangalavadya at 8 am, following which a mass devotional recitation by JSS Residential School students at 9.30 am followed by a lecture on the topic ‘Allamaprabhu Jeevana Mattu Vachana Vaibhava’ by Dr. G.V. Manjunath, a faculty of Kotre Nanjappa PU College, Holalkere, Chitradurga district and an interaction on ‘Suttur Sri Shivarathreeshwara Panchanga’ by Dr. K.G. Puttahonnaiah.
