Mysore/Mysuru: Following the launch of first phase of Census 2027, that began on Apr. 1 and will be held up to Apr. 15, through digital self-enumeration on exclusive online portal, Deputy Commissioner (DC) G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, also the Principal Census Officer, has appealed to the residents of Mysuru district to participate in the census in large numbers.
Addressing media persons at the Court Hall of his Office in Siddarathanagar yesterday, DC Reddy said, after the conclusion of self-enumeration, in the first stage, the list of households and house census will be conducted from Apr. 16 to May 15. In the second stage, population census will be conducted in Feb.2027.
For self-enumeration, people can participate on online portal https://se.census.gov.in and answer the queries. Following the completion of the process, acknowledgement number (Self-Enumeration (SE-ID) will be issued, he said, terming it as a simple process.
“Census enumerators will visit households between Apr. 16 and May 15, during which SE ID should be given to them to facilitate the process of gathering required information. One need not worry, if they fail to participate in self-enumeration online, as the enumerators will be visiting the households to collect the data,” he said.
6,013 blocks in district
To carry out the census, the whole of district is divided into 6,013 blocks, with various department officials, mainly teachers, totalling 7,748 officers and supporting staff, deputed for the purpose. Barring Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) jurisdiction, Mysuru taluk is split into 4,181 blocks, involving 4,517 enumerators and 867 supervisors totalling 5,684 staff.
In MCC area, 1,832 blocks have been constituted, involving 2,023 enumerators and 341 supervisors, totalling 2,364 staff.
Master Trainers
Each census block will have one enumerator and one supervisor for each of six enumerators. Additional 10% of enumerators and supervisors, have been deputed, as auxiliary staff. Prior to the start of the census, State-level training was conducted for seven Master Trainers of the district at Administrative Training Institute in city. District-level training was conducted for 110 Field Trainers at District Training Institute. Taluk-level training is conducted from Mar. 29 and concludes on Apr. 11.

- Login — https://se.census.gov.in
- Enter your mobile phone number, select your State/UT and fill in the captcha. Verify your account with the received One-Time Password (OTP)
- Enter the name and details of the head of the household.
- Complete the questionnaire regarding your house, amenities, assets and household members (First Phase: 33 questions).
- Use the digital tool to identify and verify your home location
- Submit the form and receive a unique 11-digit Self-Enumeration ID (prefixed with ‘H’) via SMS or e-mail
- Keep your SE ID safe. When an enumerator visits your home, provide the ID for final verification
