Mysore/Mysuru:  Activists of Karnataka Sena Pade staged protest in front of old Deputy Commissioner’s Office in city yesterday, opposing the decision of authorities concerned to hike power tariff, property tax, highway toll and drinking water bill.

The activists led by Karnataka Sena Pade Mysuru District President Tejesh Lokesh Gowda, held placards, expressing their protest against Government and demanding to repair the potholes first, instead of hiking prices of commodities frequently.

Even as the people are reeling under the crisis of LPG cylinders, the supply of which remains affected due to the ongoing US, Israel war against Iran, the Government has hiked the refill rates. Besides, the power tariff is hiked between 40 paisa to 50 paisa, along with minimum water bill for Rs. 163 and  property tax, as per the official orders. Vehicle cess that will be collected along with property tax is a totally unscientific move. Overall, the price hikes have caused disappointment among the people.

Now, the fresh fear is about fuel, as rumours are abound about the eruption of shortage in supply of petrol and diesel in the coming days.

Activists Krishnappa, Prabhushankar, Sindhuvalli Shivakumar, Bogadi Siddegowda, Shivalingaiah, Srinivas, Neha, Manjula and others were present.
