City’s future ideas showcased at Vision Mysuru 2050 finale

Mysore/Mysuru:  The Grand Finale of Vision Mysuru 2050, an ideation challenge organised by the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysuru, was held at the institute’s campus.

The event brought together student innovators, civic leaders, industry experts and academicians to present ideas aimed at shaping the future development of Mysuru.

Out of 317 submissions received from across the city, the top five ideas were shortlisted through a multi-stage evaluation process and presented before a jury at the finale.

The Vision Mysuru 2050 title was awarded to ‘Project Shudhi’ by Team Eco Prabal, represented by Dishaa Arjun and team from Excel Public School, Mysuru.

 The winners received a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and a memento jointly sponsored by SDMIMD and rProcess Outsourcing Services Pvt. Ltd.

The second prize went to Team Gandabherunda, represented by Rohith R. Kuthnikar, for the project ‘M15 Grid’. Rohith, who works at L&T Limited, Mysuru, received a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 and a memento sponsored by Mysuru Grahakara Parishad (MGP) and Minds United for Health Sciences & Humanity Trust, Mysuru.

The jury panel comprised Regional Commissioner Nitesh Patil, DRC Cinemas Managing Partner Vaishali Hanumanth,  St. Philomena’s College former Principal Fr. Leslie Moras, Aim High Consulting CEO Ravishankar, Excelsoft Technologies Executive Director and Board Member of Shruthi Sudhanva.

Speaking on the occasion, Nitesh Patil commended the participants for their innovative ideas and civic engagement. He said such grassroots initiatives have the potential to evolve into a transformative movement for the city and should be continued every year.

Patil said Vision Mysuru 2050 could serve as a meaningful bridge between citizens and district authorities in shaping the future of the city.

SDMIMD Director Dr. (Lt. Col.) S.N. Prasad said the initiative aimed to bring together young minds to reflect  on the future of Mysuru and generate actionable ideas for the city’s development.
