Melodic Medics at it again!

April 10, 2026

Time passes so fast that even before we realise that it is going, it is gone. And, it passes like a song, leaving behind happy memories, when we listen to songs and music, which is what Mysureans are set to enjoy very soon.

Yes, while memories of it are still green and we are still humming the soulful tunes they have left behind, the two Melodic Medics of Mysuru — of Geeth Gaatha Chal-fame — are all set to enthral their fans once again on Sunday (Apr.12) evening at the Senate Bhavan of the Mysore University.

Dr. Seethalakshmy Somanath and Dr. Somanath Vasudeva, the doctor couple, from Apollo BGS Hospitals, who now need no introduction to Mysureans, thanks to the many frequent performances they have been giving over the past many years, will be singing for us in the second episode of their own programme, ‘Gaata Rahe Mera Dil-2’ the debut of which had happened on 20th October, 2024.

This time the theme of the show is RRR, where they will be singing the best romantic melodies of Dr. Rajkumar, Mohammed Rafi and R.D. Burman, the three undisputed superstars of music.

Another new feature this time is that the programme will have a special interactive session called ‘Emoji se Gaane.’ What it means and what magic it will hold, has been kept on hold, by the duo and we will therefore discover it only when we go there.

The show will begin with a short instrumental invocation on the violin by Dr. Somanath, who has been a virtuoso on the instrument since his younger days, giving performances of Karnatak music and regularly winning prizes too. This time, the show is being most graciously sponsored jointly by Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoy and Sam Cherian, the two well-established entrepreneurs of our city, who have made a name for being most philanthropic, when it comes to cultural and public service programmes.

Entry is free and the show starts sharp at 4.45 pm and it ends at 7.15 pm. The show will be anchored by Aftab Ahmed, a well-known ‘Sutradhar’ of most such shows in our city. He will be supported in Kannada part by Mahesh.
