Qualifies for Natl. Championship

April 12, 2026

Mysuru: Anvesha Arya, a budding pistol shooter from the Mysuru Sports Shooting Academy, has qualified for the upcoming National Shooting Championships to be held at Bhopal in December.

Anvesha’s journey to the National stage began with a stand-out performance at the 3rd Nagaraj Rao Jagdale State Sports Shooting Competition and Championship 2026 held at Bengaluru. Competing with steady nerves, she advanced to the Pre-Nationals, where she surpassed the required Minimum Qualifying Score (MQS) with an impressive display of skill in the pistol category.

A Grade 10 student at NPSI Mysuru, she is the daughter of Abhishek Arya and Deepika Arya, residents of Vijayanagar 2nd Stage. Anvesha will now represent both her Academy and Karnataka State at Nationals.

Her qualification marks a significant milestone for the region’s shooting sports community.
