Cash, gold jewellery worth over Rs. 20 lakh looted

Mysore/Mysuru: Burglars have looted gold ornaments worth Rs. 20 lakh and Rs. 10,000 cash from the house of a doctor at Aravindanagar in Kuvempunagar Police limits in city.

The burglary took place at the house of Dr. Shrivathsa between Apr. 19 and 21 when he and his family members had gone to Kerala.

On Apr. 19, Dr. Shrivathsa along with his family members left for Kerala after locking the front door and securing the gate with a padlock.

The family returned at about 8.30 am on Apr. 21, opened the front door and entered the house only to see the rear door forcibly opened. On inspecting the house, the family found the almirah kept in the bedroom opened and on inspecting it, they found gold jewellery weighing about 150 grams and worth Rs. 20 lakh and Rs. 10,000 cash missing and lodged a complaint at Kuvempunagar Police Station.

Kuvempunagar Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
