400 players make a move in 3-day chess championship

Mysuru: The three-day Karnataka State Open and Girls U-13 Fide Rated Chess Championship-2026 organised by Mysore Chess Centre in association with Karnataka State Chess Association began at a private hotel in city this morning. Nearly 400 chess players from various parts of the State are taking part in the championship.

The organisers have announced a total prize money of Rs. 1 lakh for the winners in various categories which include U-7, U-9, U-11 and U-13 in Open and Girls categories. Cash prizes will also be awarded to top 15 players in U-13 Open and Girls categories. The valedictory ceremony of the tournament will be held on Apr. 26 at 6 pm.

Winners of the championship will be eligible to take part in the State-level championship for which the dates are yet                               to be announced.
