Mysore/Mysuru: The Karnataka Buddha Dhamma Samithi will celebrate Bhagawan Buddha Jayanti at Siddartha Buddha Vihar located in the premises of D. Sanjeevaiah Memorial Institutions in Vijayanagar 1st Stage at 6 pm on May 1.

Announcing this while addressing a preliminary meeting at Buddha Vihar here, Samiti General Secretary R. Mahadevappa said that Sri Lanka’s Na Uyana Aranya – Ironwood Grove Forest Monastery’s Bodhi Dhamma Bhanteji will grace the occasion. After performing the rituals and completing all other practices, Bhanteji will deliver a discourse on Bhagawan Buddha, he said adding that the event has proposed to send a global message, ‘No wars, we want Buddha and his preachings.’ 

Samiti President Prof. D. Nanjundaiah, office-bearers H. Shivaraju, P. Mahadev, R. Nataraj, Savakaiah and D. Chandrashekaraiah were present at the meeting.
