YUVA Job Fair-2026 powers youth employment in Mysuru

May 7, 2026

Mysore/Mysuru: In a significant push to youth employment, Young Indians (Yi) Mysuru, in collaboration with JSS Science and Technology University (JSS STU), recently hosted the YUVA Job Fair-2026 at the SJCE campus, drawing an overwhelming response from job-seekers and recruiters.

The day-long event brought together over 55 reputed companies from Mysuru and surrounding regions, collectively offering over 5,000 job  opportunities across diverse sectors.

Thousands of aspirants from five districts — Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Hassan and Kodagu — participated, making it one of the largest recruitment drives in the region.

Candidates from varied academic backgrounds, including Engineering, MBA, Commerce, Arts, Hospitality, Paramedical streams, as well as Diploma and ITI trades, actively engaged in the hiring process.

Many were shortlisted through on-the-spot interviews, while others were considered for future roles.

A standout feature of the fair was its emphasis on inclusive hiring. Special provisions were introduced to support Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and women re-entering the workforce after career breaks. Dedicated help desks and sensitised recruiters ensured meaningful participation, reflecting a strong commitment to equitable opportunities.

The event also served as a vital bridge between academia and industry, offering candidates insights into corporate expectations while helping employers access skilled talent. Organisers noted that the initiative aligns with a broader vision to empower youth through sustainable career pathways and support regional industries.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. A.N. Santosh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of JSS STU, highlighted that such initiatives reduce the need for youth to migrate to larger cities for jobs.
