Deed Writers urge for dropping of paperless registration

May 12, 2026

Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that there are many lapses and shortcomings in Kaveri 2.0 software introduced by the Department of Stamps and Registration, Deed Writers have urged the Government to scrap the recently introduced paperless registration of properties.

Addressing a press meet recently, Mysuru City and Taluk Deed Writers Federation President Nissar Ahmed said property owners are facing a lot of problems due to lapses.

“The property owners are finding it extremely difficult to complete their various registration processes such as Partition Deed, Settlement Deed, Deed of Arrangement, Partial Gift Deed etc., in Kaveri 2.0 software portal, which the people have found to be of little use. Despite this, the Government has introduced paperless registration of properties. Before introduction, the Government has not bothered to consult the Deed Writers, legal experts and other stakeholders,” Nissar Ahmed maintained.

“As per the new paperless system, there will be no physical signatures of parties involved, no physical signatures of witnesses, no physical signatures of Sub-Registrars. Also, property owners cannot avail loans from private financial institutions in case of need or meeting any other financial emergencies, based on such registered documents,” he said and urged the Government to continue with the old system of property registrations, in keeping with general public opinion.

Federation office-bearers K.R. Udaykumar, M.S. Narasimhamurthy, M. Ganesh, A.S. Nagabushan Aradhya and others were present.
