Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Nanna Hesaru Gauhar Jaan,’ the Kannada version of historian Vikram Sampath’s acclaimed biography of Gauhar Jaan (India’s first celebrity singer) — ‘My Name is Gauhar Jaan’ — will be released at Jagannatha Centre for Art and Culture (JCAC) in Vijayanagar 1st Stage in Mysuru on May 30 at 10.30 am.
On the occasion, Vikram Sampath will present an illustrated Audio-Visual (AV). Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Wadiyar will be the chief guest. CIIL’s (Central Institute of Indian Languages) linguist and researcher Dr. Narayan Kumar Choudhary will be the guest of honour.
Also, the book will be sold at a discounted price at the venue and people can take autograph of the author and a selfie with him.
This is India’s first full-length AI-translated Indian language book by Bengaluru-based NAAV AI, with minimum editing and proof-reading of Kannada translation by Srigowri S. Joshi and published by Sahitya Prakashana.
‘My Name is Gauhar Jaan’ has earned Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar-2021.
