Mysore/Mysuru: A woman sustained serious head injuries after her husband allegedly assaulted her with a stone at Bogadi in city yesterday.

It is learnt that the man, a doctor by profession, reportedly assaulted his wife on her head with a large stone resulting in her sustaining serious head injuries and undergoing treatment in an ICU at a private hospital in city.

As the woman is unable to give her statements to the Police, the reason for her being assaulted is not known yet. Saraswathipuram Police said that the woman is undergoing severe pain due to the injuries and hence, she is unable to record her statements.

Meanwhile, sources in the private hospital said that the woman was out of danger and has no threats to her life. Police said that no complaint has been lodged in this regard.
