Mysore/Mysuru: SiriCaree IVF Centre conducted pre-natal and post-natal yoga and breast-feeding classes at Gopala Gowda Shanthaveri Memorial Hospital auditorium in Nazarbad here this morning.
Yoga Therapist Vidyalakshmi conducted yoga classes for over 30 mothers and expectant mothers by teaching them simple yogasanas to enhance their health.
Speaking on the occasion, Cardiologist Dr. J. Veenu said, “At the time of pregnancy, concentration is only on health of the child and not the mother. In this regard, conducting such programmes will help in creating awareness on maintaining health during pre-natal and post-natal period.”
“Pregnant women with heart ailments must take care of their health. It is also important to stay active during pregnancy and every one must cultivate a habit of exercising since childhood,” she added.
Stating that obesity can lead to diabetes and blood pressure, Dr. Veenu said that having nutritious and healthy food should be given utmost importance.
