MP inaugurates Silver Jubilee of K.C. Nagar Residents Welfare Assn.

June 9, 2026

Mysuru – A host of cultural programmes marked the city’s Kempu Cheluvajammanni (K.C.) Nagar Residents Welfare Association’s Silver Jubilee celebrations at the locality, foot of Chamundi Hill here, on June 7.

MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar inaugurated the celebrations by lighting a lamp. He also watered a plant as part of World Environment Day.

Speaking on the occasion, Yaduveer said that the life of Yuvarani Kempu Cheluvajammanni (K.C.) is a model for spiritual life.

Stating that the erstwhile Mysore ruler Jayachamaraja Wadiyar was greatly inspired by the life of K.C. for writing his book ‘Dattatreya,’ the MP said K.C. is remembered even today as Yuvarani.

“It is happy to note that the Association formed in the name of Kempu Cheluvajammanni is celebrating its Silver Jubilee. Every resident of the layout has contributed for the growth of the locality since its formation. The locality is filled with parks and trees, which is a delightful sight,” he noted and assured that the demands for the construction of a welcome arch for K.C. Nagar, construction of Yoga Mantapa in a park and widening of roads will be met in the coming days.

The MP also released a souvenir brought out by the Association on the occasion.

The event featured several cultural programmes which chiefly included Bharatanatyam performance, Police Band Music and ‘Geetha Gayana.’

Earlier, Yaduveer Wadiyar was given a traditional ‘Poornakumbha’ welcome.

Association President H.R. Yogendra presided over the event. Kannada and Culture Department Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy, Historian Dharmendra Kumar, Association office-bearers M. Chowdegowda, Channakeshava, T.P. Vishwanath and others were present during the celebrations.
