The birth anniversary of Dr. Phakirappa Gurubasappa (F.G.) Halakatti, a renowned lawyer, Kannada writer and social reformer who is also remembered as the Vachana Pitamaha for reviving and preserving the 12th century Vachana literature, will be observed at 11.30 am on July 2 at Kalamandira in city.

District Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the programme  in the presence of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Union Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy while Chamaraja MLA K. Harishgwoda will preside over the event.

MPs Yaduveer KrishnadattaChamaraja Wadiyar, Sunil Bose, legislators of Mysuru and Mandya districts, Chairmen of various State-owned Boards, Corporations and Authorities will participate as guests at the function.
