Civet Cat, legally classified as a protected animal under Schedule II of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, was found dead near the steps of Chamundi Hill this morning. City’s Wildlife Photographer B. Chidambaram, who found the dead animal during his morning walk, said that the carcass was found near the 920th step, approximately 20 steps before the Hanuman Temple.
