Mysuru: Surabhi Ganakalamandira, Mysuru, has organised a classical vocal thematic concert on ‘Annamacharya Kritis,’ under ‘Yuva Sourabha’ series, by Vidu. Yoga Kirtana, Bengaluru, at BSS Vidyodaya School, Krishnamurthypuram, on July 26 at 5.30 pm.

Profile: Yoga Kirtana had her early training in music from her mother, renowned Veena exponent J. Yoga Vandana and later under Vidu. P. Ramaa and Vidu. Suguna Purushothaman.

Her tutelage under Sangeetha Kalacharya Vidu. Neela Ramagopal played a pivotal role in shaping her manodharma and concert presentation. An A-grade AIR artiste, she has performed over 500 concerts across prestigious platforms, including the Madras Music Academy, Brahma Gana Sabha, Nada Inmbam, Rasika Ranjini Sabha etc, Chennai, Shanmukhananda Sabha, Mumbai, SIFAS, Singapore and all major sabhas in Bengaluru and other centres.

She has been credited with many honours such as M.S. Subbulakshmi Fellowship and Tambura award from SSS Mumbai, Best Performer award from Madras Music Academy and Indiranagar Sabha, Awards from Ananya, Bengaluru, Shankara Mahadevan Academy etc.   

Vidu. Aditi Krishnaprakash, disciple of Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy and Vid. R.K.Sreeramkumar and ‘Ananya Yuva Puraskar’ awardee, will accompany on violin; Vid. Anirudh Bhat, eminent percussionist, disciple of Vidwans R. Mohanan and K.U. Jayachandra Rao and also an awardee of ‘Ananya Yuva Puraskar,’ will support on mridanga, while ghata accompaniment will be provided by Vid. Shrinidhi R. Koundinya, disciple of Vid. H.L. Shivashankar Swamy, Vidu. Sukanya Ramgopal and a winner of Best Ghata Artiste award from Madras Music Academy.
