DYES Commr. visits Stadium, Sports Hostel

Mysuru: Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) and Information and Public Relations Department Commissioner M.N. Anucheth on Monday inspected sports facilities at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad and University of Mysore sporting facilities, where various Dasara sports events will be held.

He gave necessary directions to the officials on ensuring no lapses or shortcoming in the conduct of the events.

He also directed for completion of all kinds of repairs or renovation before the event begins.

Anucheth, who also visited the Sports Hostel Complex in Nazarbad, inspected the facilities there and later heard the grievances of girls hostel inmates.

Speaking on the occasion, Anucheth said that students should put up better performance both in sports and academics and thus become a model for others.

Noting that good food and training are key for excelling in sports, he said that officials should provide food to the inmates as stipulated by the Government. Cautioning against any lapses in quality or quantity of food served, the Commissioner stressed on following the food menu as per schedule.

Highlighting the benefits of Scientific Sports Training Centre in the Complex, he said that the inmates should undergo health check-ups so that they can learn about what kind of changes in training need to be done in accordance with their body needs.

DYES Assistant Director Bhaskar Nayak, Information and Public Relations Assistant Director Nirmala and other staff  accompanied him.
