SIR extended till Aug. 17

In the second extension for submission of SIR (Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls) enumeration forms, the Election Commission has extended the deadline till Aug. 17. The earlier deadline was Aug. 8. Following a letter from the Election Commission of India, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka, issued a notification yesterday extending the SIR deadline to Aug. 17.

As per the revised schedule for the SIR of electoral rolls in Karnataka, the schedule of revision activities is as follows :

House to House visits by BLOs and return of enumeration forms by voters, till Aug. 17; Rationalisation/ Re-arrangement of Polling Stations – Aug. 17; Draft publication of electoral rolls – Aug. 24; Filing claims & objections – Aug. 24 to Sept. 23; Notice Phase/ Disposal of claims/objections – Aug. 24 to Oct. 22; Final publication – Oct. 27.
