Govt. employees must take part in I-Day: DC

Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy has asked all Government servants in the city to mandatorily take part in the 80th Independence Day celebrations to be held at the Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap at 9 am on Aug.15.

District Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah will hoist the National flag. All the staff of Government Departments, Boards, Corporations, Authorities and other Government bodies  should finish flag hoisting event at their respective location before 8 am and take part in the event at Parade Grounds at 9 am.

The staff are compulsorily required to sign the attendance register which will be kept at the entrance of the ground. School students will present cultural programmes.

The District Administration has also organised cultural programmes at Kalamandira on Hunsur Road at 6 pm.

Use of plastic, paper flags banned

The Mysuru District Administration has, in a press release, strictly banned sale and use of plastic and paper flags during the I-Day celebration on Aug.15.
