Mysuru: Swarasankula Sangeeta Sabha, Mysuru, has organised a  Hindustani vocal music recital at ‘Swaradhaaraa’ auditorium in KSRTC Layout, H.D. Kote Road, Mysuru, on  Aug. 23 from 6 pm onwards.

Artistes’ Profile

Priya Purushothaman is a Hindustani vocalist trained in the style of the Agra gharana under Vidushi Aditi Upadhya, Pandit Sudhindra Bhaumik and gharana stalwart Pandit Dinkar Kaikini. She also receives specialised training in thumri and dadra from Vidushi Shubha Joshi.

Priya also writes about music and is the author of two books: ‘The Call of Music: 8 Stories of Hindustani Musicians’ and ‘Living  Music: Conversation with Pandit Dinkar Kaikini.’ She is the creator of the educational children’s podcast, ‘Music & Masti.’
