Commonwealth Games-2026 bronze medallist K.S. Shilpa flags-off 2K and 4K Run
Mysuru: Hundreds of students from various school in the district took part in the Chamundi Run-2026 organised by Palace Sports Club as part of 80th Independence Day Celebrations in city this morning.
The event was flagged-off at Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Circle in Ramakrishnanagar by Commonwealth Games-2026 bronze medallist K.S. Shilpa. Hunsur MLA G.D. Harish Gowda presided. The prizes to the winners were distributed by Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat Mysuru District President Dr. Nagaraj V. Bairy and K.S. Shilpa.

Palace Sports Club Vice-President M.N. Ramesh, Secretary Prakash, JD(S) leader Kargil Mahesh & others were present.
The event was held in four categories — U-14 Boys and Girls and U-17 Boys and Girls.
Organisers presented a cash prize of Rs. 3,000, Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 1,000 for the first three place winners respectively.

U-14 Girls :1. M.N. Prarthana, (GHPS, Rangasamudra), 2. C. Sinchana 2K Run (Vidya Darshini School, Kurbur), 3. K.S. Deekshitha (Vidya Darshini, Kurbur).
U-17 Boys : 1. S.M. Hemanth Nayaka (Sri Gurumalleshwara High 4K Run School, Hosakote, Nanjangud),
2. Ajith (Government High School, Rangasamdura), 3. Chiranth G. Gowda (Unique Athletic Club, Mysuru).
U-17 Girls : 1. Inchara (Vidyodaya, T. Narasipur), 2. K.M. Pragathi 4K Run (Vidyodaya, T. Narasipur),
3. Nisarga (Vidyodaya, T.N. Pur).
