Rs. 2 crore sanctioned for Cauvery Theerthodbhava

Madikeri: Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar (DKS) has announced special grants for two major cultural events in Kodagu district.

A sum of Rs. 2 crore has been sanctioned for the Cauvery Theerthodbhava celebrations scheduled for Oct. 17, while Rs. 1 crore has been allocated for the Gonikoppal Dasara festival.

The announcement followed a request from MLA A.S. Ponnanna, who urged the Government to enhance funding for both events.

Responding to the request, the Chief Minister directed that the grants be released through the Cauvery Neeravari Nigama Limited.
