Mysuru: The young students of Tarangaa-Eternal Music held the audience spellbound with their impressive display of musical talent at the institution’s ninth annual event held recently at Ganabharathi’s Veene Seshanna Bhavana on Adichunchanagiri Road.

More than 30 students took part in the programme, presenting around 24 items in different categories and showcasing the rich tradition of Karnatak music.

The performances featured a range of ragas and talas, with the young artistes displaying remarkable confidence, discipline and understanding of classical music.

The programme was inaugurated by city industrialist and philanthropist Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoy. R. Vasudev Bhat, President of Vijaya Vittala Institutions and Hon. Secretary of BSS Vidyodaya, presided over the function.

Established in 2015 under the guidance of Vidushi Smitha Srikiran, an ‘A’ Grade artiste of Akashvani Mysuru and Doordarshan and a noted flautist, Tarangaa was founded with the objective of nurturing an appreciation for Indian classical music among young learners. Besides training students, it provides aspiring artistes with opportunities to perform and regularly organises workshops, lec-dems and concerts featuring eminent musicians.
