JSS Radio to host phone-in on elderly health

Mysuru: JSS Radio 91.2 FM, Mysuru, will organise a special live phone-in programme on ‘Elderly Health’ tomorrow (Aug. 28) from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm, to create awareness about health issues commonly faced by senior citizens.

Dr. Shilpa Avarebeel, Associate Professor, Department of Geriatrics, JSS Medical College and Hospital, will interact with listeners, addressing their queries related to elderly health.

The programme will cover common health conditions among older adults, including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular problems, bone and joint disorders, memory-related issues, mental health concerns and other age-related health conditions. The discussion will also focus on regular health check-ups, nutritious diet, physical activity, safe use of medicines, prevention of falls and injuries, and the role of family members and caregivers in elderly care.
