Mysuru: In the backdrop of ‘Gruha Lakshmi’ scheme, one of the five Guarantee Schemes of the State Congress Government, completing three years of implementation, the Mysore Palace will be illuminated with pink lights tonight (Aug. 30).
While regular weekend illumination will be held from 7 pm to 8 pm, the special pink light illumination will be from 8 pm to 10 pm, according to Palace authorities.
The Government had planned to celebrate the completion of 3 years of ‘Gruha Lakshmi’ scheme (Financial assistance of Rs. 2,000 per month for woman head of each eligible family in the State) in a grand manner and accordingly, many historical structures across the State will be specially illuminated tonight. Apart from Mysore Palace, Vidhana Soudha, the seat of power at Bengaluru, Suvarna Soudha at Belagavi, famed fort at Chitradurga, Stone Chariot at Hampi, the DC’s office in Mangaluru & Kittur Rani Chennamma Circle at Belagavi too will be illuminated with pink lights tonight, marking the celebration. Pink illumination is being done under the aegis of Information & Public Relations Department.
