Mysuru: Create awareness on the ill-effects of consuming drugs among the youths effectively, said Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) L. Nagesh.
Chairing the National Narcotics Coordination Portal (NCORD) meeting at the DC Office in Siddarthanagar here yesterday, he asked the officials to co-ordinate with the Social Welfare Department and the Department of Pre-University and Collegiate Education to identify students who are consuming drugs and keep them away from it.
Pointing out that there are chances of growing ganja plants along with other crops in agri fields, he advised the Agriculture Department officials to conduct inspection during their regular crop survey and submit a report besides asking the Forest Department officials to conduct inspections in forest borders to know if ganja plants are being cultivated and submit a report.
District Monthly Programme Implementation Officer Dr. Nagesh P. Aradhya, Department of Information and Publicity Assistant Director S.H. Nirmala and officials of other Departments were present at the meeting.
